POSITION TYPE: Classified Custodial - Grade IV - Second Shift


QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent is recommended.
Shall preferably have experience in custodial work and some knowledge of skills and procedures.
Shall have the ability to read and write the English language and participate in the job training program.
Shall have the ability to read and follow directions and relate well with fellow employees, students, staff and the public.
Shall exhibit acceptable standards of emotional stability, moral character, sound health and be physically able to perform assigned work.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.


CONTRACT WORK DAYS: 260 days


RESPONSIBLE TO: Head Custodian or Assigned Representative / Assistant Head Shift Custodian


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: To be responsible for performing cleaning and housekeeping routine duties.


SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows routine cleaning tasks and assigned work schedule as established by the head custodian or his/her designee.
Performs various tasks involving cleaning and general routine including the wiping of cafeteria tables between lunch periods and at the conclusion of lunch.
General routine is performing the periodic total cleaning of rooms and areas involving wall washing , floor stripping, sealing, waxing, washing of furniture and window cleaning.
Cleaning all garbage cans and storage areas.
Inspects all assigned areas for cleanliness, damage, safety hazards and unnecessary energy consumption, reporting to the Head Custodian or immediate supervisor all deficiencies not immediately correctable.
Assists in the unloading of delivery trucks.
Place/fold/move cafeteria tables when necessary.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Assistant Head Custodian 2nd shift.
