Essential Functions of the Role: Perform EKG tests on patients as requested by physicians Analyze test results and provide necessary reports to physicians Set up and maintain EKG equipment Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all EKG tests Prepare patients for EKG tests Educate patients and families about the EKG process Maintain patient confidentiality Monitor patient vital signs during EKG tests Operate EKG machines, monitor, and interpret EKG readings Coordinate with other medical staff and provide necessary assistance Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the exam room Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols Place, maintain, monitor, and process Cardiac Holter and Mobile Telemetry monitors Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum one (1) year of experience as an EKG Technician Current certification as an EKG Technician Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team Ability to operate EKG equipment Ability to read and interpret EKG tracings Ability to maintain accurate patient records Basic computer skills Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills Ability to provide patient education on EKG procedures Work Environment This position is clinicaland will report to the office Monday- Friday from 6:30 am to 5:00 PM. Physical Requirements This position requires a full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
