Laboratory Technician

Job Duties:

• Performs chemical and instrumental analyses on fuels, oils, and other lubricants using standard testing methods as prescribed by ASTM and TIP. Performs analyses on any sample introduced;
• Prepares solutions for various tests: transfers samples from one area to another in the lab; Maintains workbooks and equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions;
• Performs other duties as assigned. 40 hour work week.
• Must be willing to work day and evening shift, some weekend work and adjusted work schedules may be required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Requirements:

HS Diploma or equivalent including college chemistry.

• 0-2 years of related experience
• Must be a self-starter with attention to detail.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must have basic computer and laboratory skills.
• Must have basic hand tool knowledge.
• Must be able to operate basic laboratory equipment such as analytical balances, filtering apparatus and working with laboratory fume hoods.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing, walking, and working outdoors.
• May need to walk between sites on a 1200-acre property.
