Game Nerdz is one of the fastest-growing online board game and hobby retailers in the U.S. Our mission is to deliver the best selection, best pricing, and best service to our passionate gaming community. We’re looking for a talented developer to work on our eCommerce site and build robust integrations with external systems, improving automation and efficiency across our business.

The developer will create and maintain fully functioning websites and applications by working on both the front-end (user-facing) and back-end (server-side) aspects of development. The candidate should possess a broad range of skills across the entire software development stack to deliver complete, functional, and user-friendly platforms from end to end.

Responsibilities:

  • Key responsibilities include designing interfaces, developing server-side logic and APIs, managing databases, writing and testing code, troubleshooting bugs, and ensuring application performance and scalability.
  • Develop, test, and maintain integrations between our eCommerce site and external platforms (inventory, pricing, and order management).
  • Build, test, and maintain APIs to connect our website to third-party systems.
  • Design, implement, and manage databases to ensure efficient and secure data storage and retrieval.
  • Ensure seamless communication and integration between the user interface and the server-side logic.
  • Comprehensively test software and troubleshoot bugs to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Optimize website performance and ensure data flows are accurate and reliable.

  • Document processes, code, and integration workflows for future maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly.
  • Work closely with operations and finance teams to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Continuously learn new programming techniques, tools, and industry trends.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong backend development skills (Python, Java, C#, .NET, Node.js, or similar modern language/framework).
  • Experience developing back-end components that power the applications, including server-side code and application programming interfaces (APIs).
  • Experience with databases (SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL).
  • Strong knowledge of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Experience working with eCommerce platforms (BigCommerce, Shopify, etc.).
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience maintaining website security and familiarity with Cloudflare or similar CDN/security tools.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have):

  • Experience with ERP systems (customization, integrations, or API work).
  • Familiarity with middleware/integration platforms (Celigo, MuleSoft, Jitterbit).
  • Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS).
  • Knowledge of data mapping, logging, and error handling best practices.
