Job Description

Camarillo Springs Golf Course is entering an exciting new chapter under an active and financially committed ownership group dedicated to revitalizing and transforming the property into one of the premier public golf destinations in Ventura County. Significant investments are being made in infrastructure, irrigation, turf health, and facility improvements, and ownership is hands‑on and highly supportive of the Superintendent's vision and success. We are seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent who is passionate about restoration projects, agronomic excellence, and building a winning team culture. This is a unique opportunity to lead a dramatic turnaround at a course with tremendous natural potential and ownership fully behind the effort—both financially and operationally. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage an annual agronomic plan, labor schedule, and operating budget in collaboration with ownership and management. Lead the ongoing rehabilitation and enhancement of all playing surfaces, focusing on irrigation, turf health, and playability improvements. Oversee and guide the installation of a new Rain Bird central irrigation system, including rewiring and reconnection of satellite boxes and heads. Manage the existing POA greens under high‑salinity conditions, utilizing expertise in salt management, rapid blight, and summer patch control. Recruit, hire, and train a high‑performing maintenance team, including the potential to add an Assistant Superintendent, Spray Technician, and Lead Mechanic. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate chemical and fertilizer application records. Work collaboratively with other department heads to support course conditioning for daily play, tournaments, and events. Oversee equipment maintenance and preventive programs, ensuring reliability and longevity of assets. Participate in educational programs and turf conferences to stay at the forefront of modern agronomy and irrigation technology. Qualifications Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent with a track record of successful turf improvement and team leadership. Strong understanding of irrigation systems, including design, repair, and modernization. Knowledge of high‑salt turf management practices and disease control specific to Southern California climates. Excellent communication and organizational skills with an emphasis on planning, budgeting, and documentation. California Qualified Applicator License (QAL) or ability to obtain within 90 days. #J-18808-Ljbffr Twice
