Pride Health is hiring a Remote Medical Coder to support our clients medical facility based in Hartford, Connecticut. This contract opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!Responsibilities:Review inpatient clinical documentation and assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis and ICD-10-PCS procedure codesDetermine appropriate DRGs for compliance and reimbursementUse CAC/encoder software, coding manuals, UHDDS standards, and official guidelinesCode complex cases including:Interventional Radiology & CardiologyCardiovascular SurgeriesMajor TransplantsNeurovascular SurgeriesSpinal FusionsLevel 1 TraumaEnsure data quality for internal/external reporting, research, and regulatory useResolve edits and complete reviews dailyCollaborate with CDS, Quality Management, Billing, and RegistrationSeek clarification from physicians for ambiguous or missing documentationMentor and support junior coders on complex casesMeet productivity standards and KPIsQualifications:? Associate's Degree or equivalent experience? Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required and must be maintained? Minimum 23 years progressive inpatient coding experience? Expertise in coding high-dollar, high-complexity inpatient accounts? Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding?
