EVALCORP is a growing evaluation and measurement consulting firm headquartered in south Orange County, CA (Irvine area). We provide evaluation, needs assessment, and strategic planning services for government agencies and nonprofits. We are currently seeking full-time Research Assistants to support our project teams. Research Assistants provide logistical and administrative support to multiple evaluation, needs assessment, and/or strategic planning projects and maintain consistent communication with their Project Leads. Research Assistants use their knowledge of evaluation and/or applied research to assist with data collection, management, analysis, and reporting. NOTE: This role is California-based and requires occasional travel to client sites. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate and schedule data collection activities Support or conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection (stakeholder interviews, focus groups, surveys) Conduct literature reviews Support data entry and file verification Maintain project data sets, including data entry, verification, and cleaning Assist with inferential statistical and qualitative analysis Summarize data in tables, charts, graphs Create data visualizations, with direction Assist with drafting sections of reports and presentations Format reports and presentations Participate in client and team meetings and perform note-taking during meetings Translate data collection tools and other documents, as needed Conduct other activities to support projects, as needed MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in psychology or an applied social science One year or more of full-time evaluation or similar applied research experience Highly organized, can produce work on multiple projects on time Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and SPSS or similar statistical software Preferred: Fluency in Spanish preferred (verbal and written) Preferred: Experience working in or with a non-profit and/or government agency Preferred: Subject matter expertise in criminal justice, public health, or mental health REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong problem-solving skills Organized and produces high-quality work for multiple projects Follows instructions and seeks assistance appropriately Actively listens and remembers key points from communication with others Ability to work in a fast-paced, small business and respond flexibly to changing business needs Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm data and information Ability to maintain professional interactions Ability to work some weekends or evenings Travels to firm office and to client locations; has access to own transportation WHY JOIN OUR TEAM?
