\nRegistered Nurse - PCU
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 12-hour night shifts in a mixed acuity PCU/Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
\n• Patient ratios of 1:4-5, may extend to 1:6 in extreme situations
\n• 36 hours per week can be offered with 13-week assignments available
\n• Weekend requirement of 4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks, may require more based on staffing needs
\n• Required to float to similar units within the facility
\n• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, accepts first-time travelers
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS; NIHSS preferred
\n• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
\n• 24-hour orientation provided
\n• Scrubs required: white or navy blue
\n• Essential skills: IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
\n• Care for patients with COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress, COVID-19, flu, and pulmonary embolisms
\n• Work with specialized equipment including chest tubes, cardiac drips (Dopamine, Cardizem, Heparin), ventilators, trachs, and BiPAPs/CPAPs
\n• Use electronic systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
\n• Maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week due to fatigue policy
\n• Unit can accommodate block scheduling when unit needs are met
\n• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
\n• No RTO allowed during first week due to orientation

The facility provides extensive support resources including an admission/discharge nurse, assistant nurse manager, vascular access team, rapid response teams, and behavioral health teams. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services.
