Registered Nurse – Cardiac Tele

 

Facility: University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center
Location: 500 Upper Chesapeake Dr, Bel Air, MD 21014-4324
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every Other Weekend
Submittal Type: Interview Not Required (Auto Offer)

 

Position Overview

The 3W Cardiac Tele unit provides specialized care for adult patients with cardiac telemetry monitoring needs. The role focuses on managing patients with cardiac diagnoses, stroke/TIA, and stable cardiac catheterization cases. Nurses will float within the hospital as needed and participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure high-quality patient care.

 

Requirements

• Licensure: Active MD RN License or Compact License – Required (Must be in hand at submission)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year recent relevant nursing experience – Required
• Patient Ratio Experience: Comfortable with 1:5-6 ratio – Required
• Travel Experience: Required
• Local Radius Rule: Locals within 50 miles – Not Accepted

Certifications

• BLS (AHA) – Required
• ACLS – Preferred
• Other Certifications – CPI certification preferred for compliance

Charting System

• Any charting system – Required

Cardiac Care & Emergency Response

• Cardiac monitoring
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response and Code teams
• IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Peripheral line care and management

Respiratory

• Oxygen administration including nasal cannula and oxygen tanks
• Non-invasive airway management

Professional Topics

• Isolation precautions
• Multidisciplinary teamwork

Scheduling

• Float Required: Yes, within hospital, travelers float first
• Weekend Coverage: Every Other Weekend
• Block Schedule: No
• Pre-approved RTO: 1 request allowed
• Holiday Work: Major holidays observed as per facility guidelines
